Summer saviour

silk scarfA few days ago I was looking for a nice ladies silk scarf; I think I already told you that I find the trend-colours of this summer a little boring and little diversified… Don’t get me wrong: those colours (like Apricot and Cream) per se are very nice; but if there’s just blouses, skirts and pants in these two tones, then it gets a little dull, don’t you agree?

Well, that’s why I was very glad to see that when it comes to scarves, theses rules don’t seem to apply: they had the most varied designs, different colours, floral patterns, whatever your heart desires. …But thinking about it, this is the only logical thing they can do – after all this summer there is just those accessories to spice up your unspectacular outfit… ;-)

Yay, spring has finally begun! But that’s no reason to put away all your beautiful scarves in the darkest corner of your wardrobe. Because the great thing is: scarves can be worn the whole year. In winter you wear warm ones to protect yourself against the cold and not getting ill. But needless to say you also can use them in summer, to give your outfit the little extra.

Of course those summer shawls are not the same as the ones you would use in winter. They are much more lighter and made of other materials. Just look at all those beautiful silk scarves for women they are selling right now in stores. I absolutely am planning to buy me a few nice pieces. Because combined with the right accessories, that way you can spice up every outfit.

Choose wise!

At the moment I am having difficulties finding the right shoes. I got some very nice summer shoes (from Fred Perry, just to give one example) and I got my super-warm and comfy winter boots. But I feel like I’m missing shoes for the time between winter and summer (some used to call it spring…).

I do own warmer shoes for this transition period indeed – but unfortunatley it proved that they have a very bad quality; and although they are not very old, they already look totally ripped up… Well, at least they weren’t too expensive. But it’s annoying nevertheless. Because now when I go out I always have to decide: looking sexy and be cold – or not freezing, but in change looking a little clumsy…

Summer’s secret

I’m really eager to know what type of summer is awaiting us this year… Due to the global warming I fear we have to reckon with everything. It can establish the next heat-record with desert-like temperatures; but at the same time we can have the next Noachian deluge. Or them both by turns…

You see I’m quite disillusioned about what happens to our planet… But of course: hope dies last. So I still keep my faith that there will be a chance to wear my nice shorts, my sunglasses and all my other pretty summer-clothes. But that’s just my egoistic fashion-desire… In general I hope that humanity will realise what we do to our planet and reconsider a few things, like our food pattern for example…

Wonderful seasons

I really love all the sasons. There’s not a single one I despise (like so many others, that say for example things like “I hate winter!“). I like the beautiful awakening of the nature in spring, the hot summer days which allow you to go swimming and sit outside the whole night, fall with all of it’s wondeful colours and the fresh air, and the white winter world, combined with my favourite holiday: christmas.

But there is one specific thing about winter I don’t like: Going somewhere warm and then having to get rid of all your jackets, gloves and scarves. And then storing them somewhere. Your only other choice is to drag your stuff around all the time… This really is one thing I prefer about summer, when you wear a shirt and trousers – and that’s all. No storing, no problem.

Second summer

I really hope that we get a beautiful autumn! I’m talking about a real Indian summer. Not just because it’s the time of my birthday, but also because I wanna enjoy the warm days a little longer.

Although… I bought quite a few really nice sweaters and hoodies the last weeks and I’m already looking forward to wear them. But on the other hand: winter is coming soon enough and then there will be more than enough time to wear them. So that’s why I’m hoping so much that we all can enjoy a warm and sunny autumn. Of course you can’t swim anymore in the seas and rivers – but you can sit at the shore with your drinks, and talk and laugh and have a good time just like in summer. Given of course that the weather god is on our side…

Painless pleasure

Oh, how I envy all those boys and girls wandering around the city in flip-flops when it’s so hot outside! I would love to do it, too – but my problem is, I just can’t wear them. Not because my feet are ugly or something like that (I personally adore my feet), but because I got problems with that small rod between your toes: It rubs and rubs, my toes get red and in the end eventually start to bleed. (That were some great beach-holidays by the way, with hurting and bleeding toes, believe me…)

But what to do? Well, because of all that stuff I prefer wearing flat sandals: They may be more expensive than flip-flops, but normally also are much prettier and – in my case – better to wear.

And so my feet can enjoy summerdays too and I no longer have to envy other people.

As summer has already visited us or a short while but then suddenly decided again to hide its sunny face, I’m getting all hyped up on wearing my denim skirts until I can again wear my airy summer skirts. You gotta make the best out if everything, eh!

Well seriously, I love skirts, so of course I like the kind out of denim as well! I count three in my possession. One that goes down to the floor, that is really nice and airy in the summer heat, one that just shortly ends underneath my bum and another one that is about 10cm longer and therefore is great for everyday use. My favourite colours or better my favourite items to combine it to are at the moment mustard yellow leggings or tights! They allow you not too look too playful without making the outfit too sporty or too boyish. My pick for the day: mustard yellow!!

shoe addiction

I really like buying shoes! Well, I might like shopping in general after all event hough I didn’t like it that much… Well, I might not really the actual act of shopping itself but the feeling of being over the moon when unwrapping your achievements (rather prey than anything) of the day.

Some cosmetics here, some accessories there are really nice to buy but shoes are somewhat special. Shoes are even more fun to unwrap and even more fun to buy! You don’t have to undress and change as much as you would have to do when buying clothes and the effect of having nice, comfortable, high quality shoes is always astonishing. The shoes women wear really make the outfit no matter what simple clothes they are combined to.

winter skirts – summer skirts

I really like fashion and I really enjoy dressing up and wearing skirts, dresses and simply girly, nice clothes. Yet I noticed that I mostly do that in winter. I usually don’t wear summer skirts even though it would make much more sense to wear skirts during summer rather than during fall and winter. I can’t even say that the reason is that I don’t like my legs. Well, maybe to some extent but when temperatures are rising, usually I wouldn’t care anymore, as everybody else wouldn’t care either. But still, when summer arrives I’m all pants – and I don’t mean shorts, I really mean pants. I suppose I might simply feel a bit too naked when wearing a skirt in summer, as you wouldn’t really put on some tights. One breeze of air and I’m afraid of being Marilyn Monroe for a second…
