To your health!

Posted on by

Wow – I’m so glad that I’m finally fit again! Because I was ill the last few days; really ill. I even couldn’t leave my bed, so much did my body hurt… Well, and you all know the feeling: you don’t get well again from one day to another. It’s not like you feel awful monday – and tuesday you wake up, saying „Oh, I feel great!“ No, you maybe do feel that the worst seems to be over and that you aren’t critically ill anymore – but you still feel very weak, your head still aches and so on.

That’s why I’m so happy now – because today I finally really feel healthy; healthy enough to go to the gym again and stuff like this. So I’ll put my sports clothes in my backpack and tomorrow (or saturday at the latest) you’ll find me working out. :)

sports bra

I went out for a run this morning and remembered just how much I appreciate my sports bra by Triumph. I bought the model Triaction Extreme and am more than happy having it. It is a bra with supportive, moulded cups and wide gel straps that don’t strain the shoulders whilst running.

Wearing the sports bra feels pretty comfortable and in comparison to the one I had before from H&M this one by Triumph gives a lot more support. If you look at the price of £29.00, the jump from £12.99 form H&M is not too big if you consider having a high quality product when paying slightly more.

In general I recommend wearing a sports bra no matter by what label! They minimize breast movement and prevent or reduce potential damage to chest ligaments. So if you exercise, do wear one!

keep on running

I quite enjoy jogging in the morning. Preferably in company, as my motivation to actually go out for a run drops towards zero immediately if I don’t have an actual “jogging date”.

As it’s gotten colder these days and I reckon it will be even colder in January and February, all you out there who like jogging as well should know how important proper sportswear is.

Apart from good running shoes (you really shouldn’t save on them) you also need a light jacket that blocks the wind and rain. Remember always putting on a hat or headband and light gloves once the temperatures drop below 5 degrees. You should even consider wearing tights and tops (or rather long-sleeves) that wick the moisture away from your skin. You’ll get quite warm after the first 100 meters, so if you are freezing a little when you step outside your house you are actually perfectly dressed. Once you are home, immediately change into dry clothes and only then start your stretching!

I found good tights for running and even really good compression socks at falke.com. Read more on this topic here.
