I really like wrapping presents. But since they usually look kind of similar for every occasion, be it Christmas or Birthday, I decided to try something new this year. I found an interesting technique on my search for new Japanese goods on Bento&co. There, I came across a wrapping cloth usually used for wrapping up and carrying around your fresh made “bento” (packed lunch). The wrapping cloth is called “furoshiki” and it mostly comes in a 50cm square cotton fabric.

As I’m a huge fan of Japan, of course I do have a few of them at home myself and I do know that those wrapping cloths originally were used to wrap up anything that needed wrapping (goods, lunch, gifts), but the idea to actually wrap presents in it never crossed my mind. What a shame! It’s a gorgeous idea and it looks amazing even though mot much time is needed. Have a look at this video and be inspired.
