I think I already told you that I cleaned up my closet and got rid of many clothes I never wore. And then I suddenly realised that I haven’t got enough jeans and trousers! So my plan was to go on a big shopping trip (as long as I’m on vacancy) and get more clothes.
But then a few weeks ago my sister came to visit me – and she brought lots of clothes with her that she can’t wear anymore, because she gained a few pounds. Well, her loss is my gain, because I can wear all her old clothes.
Isn’t it funny? Exactly the same thing you hated as a kid (wearing you older siblings used clothes) now is a very welcome opportunity to save money. Even more, considering that her clothes are all from top labels…

Everything for my darling
How do you think about new born baby clothes from famous fashionbrands? Of course they look cute – but don’t look all the babyclothes cute? And in my opinion buying so expensive high-class babyfashion is just a waste of money.
Especially when it’s fashion for new borns. You know how fast they grow. You can imagine that you have to buy a complete new set of babyclothes every few months – maybe even weeks! So I would never buy so expensive clothes for children or babys. Even more if you consider that the little ones don’t even realise what they are wearing and cannot „appreciate“ it. But of course: those who don’t have to worry about money at all – go for it! It’s just that I think I will buy really expensive clothes for my kids not until they realise it.
Miu Miu
I’ve been checking out a few looks of women related to London Fashion Week on vogue.co.uk today. When I came across this gorgeous outfit worn by Roberta Benteler, founder of online shop Avenue 32, I noticed that I haven’t been looking at clothes by Miu Miu lately even though they make such beautiful things!
Miu Miu was created in 1993 and it belongs to the Prada fashion house. The label was named after head fashion designer and entrepreneur Miuccia Prada as her nickname used to be Miu.
As much as I like the fashion I admire the person Miuccia Prada herself. She graduated with a PhD in Political Science, studied and performed as a mime for five years, was a member of the Communist Party and an active member of the women’s rights movement! Next to that she’s a brilliant designer and as mentioned entrepreneur.
let’s dress up!
Seriously, I love to dress up! Not only because I do look better with makeup on and a nice hairdo. I like the actual process of dressing up. Turning on good music, having a glass of wine or two (or beer, or vodka – anything on hand, whatever creates the mood), talking about stupid things with my friends, trying different outfits and new styles – it’s a hell of fun!
One of my favourite brands for makeup is definitely Benefit. Not only do they have the best design ever, they use really good ingredients too. And everything smells so good! The coral-pink cheek powder smells lightly of roses. So does the “rose-tinted lip and cheek stain Benetint”. If you don’t already have loads of their products check out their website and find a store close to you. Be careful though, it’s addicting!
the tartan look
Once a year it’s usually all about the tartan look. So in fact, I suppose winter has really begun. Nearly all designers seem to be inspired anew by the Scottish pattern that makes us imagine misty worlds and romantic winter stories. Even though it’s a fact that it’s always the same every year I enjoy it very much every time. I really like autumn and winter in general and the tartan gives the whole scene quite the right touch. It’s the same with Burberry. Even though I like the line Burberry Prosum much more than the classic Burberry line, it just gives off the Burberry feeling and everybody has a picture in mind and knows what I’m talking about. The new Burberry seems to be Aquascutum though and is actually the new brand to have. They really do have nice trench coats!
Anyway, for me tartan gives of a Celtic, British lets-walk-through-the-woods-and-have-a-tea-afterwards kind of feeling. Well, all in all I hope you are having a time just as wonderful as I have when I look at a tartan garment.
JEWELLERY TREASURE HUNT
The Versace hype seems to be over now and I already was questioned who the next designer collaborating with H&M will be. Well, of course I don’t know this yet and probably won’t before the rest of the world will.
Even so, the more I looked at Donatella’s creations the more I seemed to fancy them in a way. Though the jewellery in general wasn’t really to my liking I am still surprised at me buying a bracelet from the collection (it looks like it’s inspired by inca art) remembering me smirking at all those lunatics queuing in front of the stores since 4 in the morning…
Anyway, I noticed my lack of jewellery in general and thought it’s time to search for new treasures! I’ll be in Paris for a few days next week and I quite like the idea of having a mission to conquer, as without one I’d randomly buy anything within my sight. So let’s go treasure hunting!
