Waiting endlessly…

Posted on by

Recently when surfing the internet and looking for some new shirts and stuff, in the end I landed on the BOSS homepage. There I saw lots of cool BOSS Orange clothing; I would have loved to buy a few more things. But I’m not too rich at the moment – as a freelancer you always depend on your jobs, of course. That’s the price you pay for your „freedom“.

So till I get the money from my last jobs I will have to live a little more frugal, hehe. And agencies love to keep you waiting… Yesterday for example I got the money from a work I did last(!) summer. I find this rather barefaced, but there’s not much you can do… Except for not working for this specific company the next time. But they pay very good after all, so I’ll do it again when required. ;)

Bad mood

I was so happy that spring finally had begun and that it started getting so warm outside. I remember when exacly one week ago I was wearing shorts and enjoying the sun on my face. One day later it started to rain; and it hasn’t stopped yet…

It even got so wet an moistly outside that I turned on the heating again. Not just for myself but also for the laundry which just won’t getting dry… I really hate it! Even more since I think that the heating doesn’t even work, because in „summer“ the property management switches it off… I think we all know the „great“ smell of laundry that stays moist for a few days…

And looking at the forecast… well, let’s just say my mood isn’t really getting better, ok?

women trousersRecently I bought some really beautiful silk trousers; although it’s always a little risky, wearing them so early in the year… Because in spring there’s sometimes still lots of dirt and mud on the streets – reminder of the winter. Together with those frequent rainy days spring has to offer, going out can be quite a dirty matter.

And wouldn’t it be a pity to stain your new pants? Even more, considering that you must be very careful when it comes to washing silk. So I only wear them when the forecast is really good and it surely will be a sunny day. …But of course there’s never a guarantee that you and your clothes will stay sound and safe. You want an example? Just imagine me, eating spaghetti… :D

blouseHow are you? Enjoying the sun? I absolutely do! It’s so great to feel the warm sunshine on your face and skin again after such a long and dark winter… Fitting to my happy mood I even bought me some silky and airy ladies blouses. Now I nearly feel like lady spring myself. ;-)

I just love it to sit outside in some pavement café, drinking a latte, equipped with sunglasses and a good book. Of course you always have to bring an in-between jacket, anyway; just in case April want’s to prove it’s power and let’s the temperatures change in the blink of an eye. But if you’re properly prepared, this won’t shock you, right? Because there is no bad weather – just bad clothing. Or in this case: bad preparation.

silk scarf

Yay, spring has finally begun! But that’s no reason to put away all your beautiful scarves in the darkest corner of your wardrobe. Because the great thing is: scarves can be worn the whole year. In winter you wear warm ones to protect yourself against the cold and not getting ill. But needless to say you also can use them in summer, to give your outfit the little extra.

Of course those summer shawls are not the same as the ones you would use in winter. They are much more lighter and made of other materials. Just look at all those beautiful silk scarves for women they are selling right now in stores. I absolutely am planning to buy me a few nice pieces. Because combined with the right accessories, that way you can spice up every outfit.

Fruity

pantyRecently I watched a very funny TV show: it was about a 15 year old girl and her troubles growing up. Something we all know, right?

Well, and in one scene she was fighting with her mother because she still had to wear childish underwear, with funny little fruits and pictures on it.

This moment I had to laugh a lot, because only a few days earlier I saw underwear for women in exactly the same style, with little patterns on it. And I honestly found it quite cute… When you’re a grown up and self confident woman, you can wear something like that without a problem in my opinion. But sure: when you’re still a young girl, trying to find yourself and trying to be a grown-up, it may be the wrong choice of underwear. At least for the moment…

April Fool

As you all know yesterday was April 1st. I really am glad that this strange „tradition“ of April Fool’s jokes seems to be phasing out. At least none of my friends or family members is doing this kind of stuff.

But if you love April Fools you don’t have to be sad: just go out for a little walk on the street. I promise you’ll see sufficient people which will make you wonder: are you wearing this outfit seriously – or is this an April’s joke?? Well, sadly we all know the answer, don’t we? But on the other hand: different strokes for different folks. As long as he’s not hurting any other people, everybody shall live the way he likes. (Please note the important first part of the sentence, however!)

Freaking out for fur

leather jacketJust recently I saw a documentary on TV about Karl Lagerfeld and his work for the italian label Fendi. It was really an interesting show, because you got another insight in the crazyness that is the fashion world. At the end you saw lots of celebrities like Anna Wintour going backstage and admiring all those fur coats. And I just imagined all the animal-lovers in front of their TV-screens totally freaking out…

But all jokes aside: Fur definitely is very cruel. But always remember: if you decry fur, you also shouldn’t wear leather clothes; or even eat meat. And if we’re honest: most of us do eat meat; and also have leather jackets hanging in the closet. Because they look great. Well, of course that’s not an excuse. I just want you to think about our daily hypocrisy.

Times change…

I think I already told you that I cleaned up my closet and got rid of many clothes I never wore. And then I suddenly realised that I haven’t got enough jeans and trousers! So my plan was to go on a big shopping trip (as long as I’m on vacancy) and get more clothes.
But then a few weeks ago my sister came to visit me – and she brought lots of clothes with her that she can’t wear anymore, because she gained a few pounds. Well, her loss is my gain, because I can wear all her old clothes.
Isn’t it funny? Exactly the same thing you hated as a kid (wearing you older siblings used clothes) now is a very welcome opportunity to save money. Even more, considering that her clothes are all from top labels…

At least in fashion…

women's coatSometimes I think women have it better than men. At least when it comes to fashion… Of course I am aware that in our world there’s still lots of inequality and injustice between men and women – but I don’t want to start a political debate here, but just talk about fashion. :-) And as I said: there I sometimes feel we girls have it better.

Last time when I thought about this was when I was looking for womens trench coats; because I could choose between lots of beautiful colours – and then I saw the trench coats for men: just one, lonely, sad colour; this typical trench coat beige. Poor guys… And that was when I thought: „Oh, at least when it comes to coats it seems that women are privileged.“
