For a better world…

I think I already told you about my resolution to eat less meat. I’m not planning to be a fulltime vegetarian (or vegan), but at least I want to qualify my consumption of meat. And when I’ll buy meat I will buy good one. That may be expensive – but since I will eat less, that won’t matter. This way one regaines the consciousness that meat is something special and that an animal had to die for us…

So since I’m doing this out of pity with the animals I’m wondering: should I also stop wearing leather clothes for example? Because there are lots of animals suffering not just for our food pattern… Well, I still haven’t decided yet – but I think eating less meat is a very good start, don’t you agree?

A girly year…

I decided that the year 2013 will be a very feminine year for me. Not that I normally leave the house dressed like a canadian lumberjack; but what I want to express is that at the moment I am really in the mood for wearing clothes like a sweet silky dress or something similar.

I even decided to eat more healthy and bought me a cooking book with just fresh, vegetarian food. I’m not a vegetarian (yet), but why not trying to eat a little healthier and with less meat? And my new detoxed body will just go perfect with the feminine fashion I’m planning to wear. :-)

Funny that although I didn’t have a single New Year’s Pledge, now I’m changing lot’s of things. But without any stress – and that’s really the best way!

Washed away

Recently I realised that I almost never wash my scarves. Because you wear them just a little while when you go out – and when you come home you just put them back into your wardrobe without thinking much. But recently I was wondering: Why is it, that those scarves don’t get smelly over the months – or even years? And then I realised: Oh, they do! :D
So I put all my scarves into the washing machine – and now I have wonderful scented scarves again. Well, talking of scented: that may be the wrong word; they more have a quite neutral scent now. But they are missing the floral aroma of my beloved perfume. So I guess I will have to wear them a few times, until they regain their nice odor of my fragrance.

The right attitude

Meanwhile you should all know that in general I like the winter – but now comes a time when the beautiful snowy landscapes often change to dirty and grey mud. And the rain begins; lots and lots of rain…

So I think I will buy a new raincoat for women. And to resist the winterly melancholy I think I will chose an exemplar in a very bright colour; like red, yellow or pink. Because of course we can’t change the weather – but we can change our own attitude. How goes the saying? There is no bad weather – there’s just the wrong outfit. I think this is a very smart consideration – because it encourages you to have a positive attitude. And this really is one of the most important things in our lives, don’t you think?

New beginning

The year 2013 has arrived and I hope you all had a great party with your beloved ones. I am really excited what the new year will bring us – in general and of course in terms of fashion and style. I personally deeply hope that in this new year some fashiontrends will pass from us – like skinny fit jeans.

I can’t explain why but I just don’t like them. But on us girls they look at least, let’s say, okay. But boys with those skinny jeans look just awful. The truth is I could never bear a boyfriend who wears this kind of trousers. Because I immediately start thinking about these Britpop-guys, who all look like as if they would smell really bad… So thanks, no skinny jeans for me – nor my boyfriend.

Toying around

Recently I was surfing on the Tommy Hilfiger website to look for some baby girls dress for a friend of mine. But what I discovered there was way cuter than any baby dress could ever be: I found a super sweet plush toy – a little dog with a cute little tie; in blue for boys and in pink for girls. I didn’t know that big designer brands also have toys for children, but I find this little animal absolutely adorable!

So I will not only buy one of those baby dresses as planed, but also the toy. I hope my friend will like it and won’t be mad at me. Because her little baby already has lots of toys. But I think it’s okay to give her this little doggy in addition. And if not I’ll just keep it for myself! :-D

Last minute change

Remember when I told you about my ambitions for my boyfriend’s Christmas present (see last entry)? Well, it seems that those good leather jackets I spoke of are actually a little out of my league. Even more, considering that my boyfriend maybe not even wants a leather jacket

So I changed plans and am going to buy a leather man bag. Because here at least I know he wishes to have one. And they aren’t so super-expensive as leather jackets.

But now I really have to hurry, because Christmas is already knocking on the front door. But this time I’m sure to find a cool exemplar that I can afford – and that he will like, too. I just have to resist the temptation buying also a nice purse fo myself… ;-)

Selfish present

I would love to see my boyfriend in a black leather jacket – but till today he hasn’t bought one. So it’s time to get matters into my own hands…

Good thing that Christmas is approaching – so I’ll see if I can find a cool jacket and buy it as a Christmas present. And I don’t think my darling will have reason to complain: a good leather jacket with high quality is not what you would call cheap… I just hope the prices won’t be too exagerated. As you can imagine I have to buy some more gifts for family and friends.

Well, I’ll see what I can do. But I’m quite aware that it would be wiser to wait till after Christmas, when the sales begin. But my boyfriend is worth it to spend a little more, so it’s okay.

Wise washing

I already told you about the annoying washing-situation in my flat, didn’t I? About the one washing machine shared by the community and the strange residents in my building, who sometimes hang the still wet clothes to other places, because in their opinion the clothes have been there long enough and so on…

However, just recently I discovered that there even is a heating in the washing room. So I finally can get my laundry to dry well even in the coldest winter. Of course I’m quite aware that it surely is some kind of „forbidden“ to use this heating for reasons just the other residents may understand in their crazy heads… But I got a trick: I wash at night and then put on the heating at full power – so my clothes can really dry at least one night, before the next morning one of those weirdos switches the heating off again.

Chaotic cold

Now winter has us in his hands. In his frosty, merciless hands. I spent the weekend in Madrid in Spain and was quite shocked when I came back just to find myself in a heavy snow storm. They even nearly cancelled my flight; but in the end the crew decided to fly. And the pilot spokte the very encouraging words: „Well, we’ll try it.“ So you can imagine how glad I am to have returned savely.

But that’s not what I wanted to say in the first place. I just wanted to point out that with such a strong winter you have to own a good jacket or one of those trench coats. One that keeps you warm and comfy in those freezing months. And if you don’t already have one you should buy one. Better sooner than later by the way…
