At the moment there are lots of partys in my neighbourhood. The good thing is: I am invited, so I can have a good time with nice people. The “bad” thing is: I’m really hung over! I think those last few weeks have destroyed my healthy lifestyle quite a lot…

But of course: you only live once. So why not enjoying the one life we have? But that’s not what I wanted to tell you in the first place. Actually I wanted to write about my outfits. Because those parties differ a lot: one kind is totally casually, whilst the other is a little bit more high class. So I bought a wonderful womens suit which looks absolutely fabulous! Combined with the right accessories I really feel like Victoria Grayson from that tv-series “Revenge”… ;-)

Don’t forget

A few weeks ago I told you that this will be a „girly year“. Means that I’m planning to buy more silky dresses and nice things like that. Well, at this moment of the year I still haven’t had time to buy more girlswear… Well, of course it’s just february – so there is absolutely no reason to agitate. But I’m sure you know the feeling when you have plans and then it looks like you just won’t have times to pursue them. Well, as I said: the year has just started and there is still looooots of time left. I just don’t want my New Year’s pledges to drown in the daily stress…

So at the moment it looks like in two weeks I will have a little spare time – and then my motto will be: shop till you drop! :-)

Summer is here…

Oh my god, what a heat! I don’t know how you’re doing out there, but here the heat is nearly unbearable. I’m glad it’s sunday, so I can hang out in my flat just wearing underwear.

But later I’m going to meet with friends, so I have to leave home and hence (unfortunately) get dressed. Well, on days like this I prefer blouses and shorts – just light stuff, so that I won’t sweat myself to death…. And then I’ll drink loads of ice-tea. Yes, I already can hear you: „But that’s soo unhealthy!“ And you know what? I don’t care! I’ll sweat the sugar out just returnig home afterwards.

Or maybe I could make the ice-tea myself at home? There are quite many recipes that seem kinda cool. Thinking about it that’s a great idea – I’ll invite my friends over. It’s cheaper anyway – and I can stay in my underwear, too! :-)

winter skirts – summer skirts

I really like fashion and I really enjoy dressing up and wearing skirts, dresses and simply girly, nice clothes. Yet I noticed that I mostly do that in winter. I usually don’t wear summer skirts even though it would make much more sense to wear skirts during summer rather than during fall and winter. I can’t even say that the reason is that I don’t like my legs. Well, maybe to some extent but when temperatures are rising, usually I wouldn’t care anymore, as everybody else wouldn’t care either. But still, when summer arrives I’m all pants – and I don’t mean shorts, I really mean pants. I suppose I might simply feel a bit too naked when wearing a skirt in summer, as you wouldn’t really put on some tights. One breeze of air and I’m afraid of being Marilyn Monroe for a second…

the shirt dress

One of my friends told me that whenever she sees a shirt dress or blouse she thinks of me and mostly she’ll think the shirt dress in her hands would suit me.

I wondered and had a quick look inside my wardrobe. Yes, I do have lots of blouses, shirts and dresses of that kind hanging there. I suppose they do suit me best in a way but I’d never figured that fact out by myself.

My new pick is this shirt dress by Warehouse. It’s a lovely colour and I really like the styling with those brown boots and leather bag just as much. Even though I don’t need any more dresses (considering the mass of only shirt dresses in my wardrobe) I think I have to have this one. It has a classic cut and just look at this amazingly beautiful colour!

The Naked Kitchen

Over the last few days I’ve been listening to one of my favourite soundtracks and I thought about sharing it with you here. It’s the soundtrack of the Korean movie called The Naked Kitchen, which I saw about a year ago via… ahem… Internet (I know! You shouldn’t do that!!).

If you ever have the chance though, watch the movie or listen to the soundtrack somehow. Really, it’s a weird yet lovely little movie with just as lovely music. You can compare it to French movies, which are always slightly weird but beautiful nevertheless.

As for the costumes, they are very well chosen and I especially like the blue dress the main actress Shin Min-A is wearing in the beginning. You can also see it in the trailer. So then, give it a go and have fun watching it!

the mysterious flounce dress

Since English is not my mother tongue I wondered today what in the world the shape of a flounce dress could be. I couldn’t find a definition per se, but the pictures of flounce dresses found by Google were more than helpful. It is a dress that can be in babydoll-shape or even close-fitting. It doesn’t particularly matter as the “flounce” is usually attached to the dress.

I remember having a flounce dress when I was twelve or something. It came down to the knee, had two layers of fabric and attached to each was an enormous flounce. It was a light lilac and I hated the colour (still do). Well, I remember looking not too pretty in it…

This one by Moschino looks really pretty though! It’s not really my kind of style as it’s very girly in a way, but still it does look nice.

feeling the Christmas spirit

On Saturday I went to the staff Christmas party my workplace holds every year. Surprisingly, it’s been the first time it was actually hold in December. The years before the Christmas spirit wasn’t really coming through since the party was held in mid January and everybody had more than enough of Christmas carols and such. So basically, it’s always been an occasion for celebrating over the top in terms of alcoholic beverages. Fun without a doubt, but still slightly unpleasant considering you have to look your colleagues and boss in the eye, with a clear mind again, 24hours later.

Anyway, not this time. It was a very calm party and everybody dressed up quite nicely. I wasn’t the only one deciding on a black cocktail dress and the view upon all my male colleagues was just as pleasing.
